Wedding Receptions
The house is available for receptions on weekends and weekdays. The stunning drawing room is one long sweeping room that can comfortably accommodate up to 110 people for a sit down meal. For larger weddings or by preference, receptions can also be held in a marquee in the garden. The marquee is usually situated on the front lawn in front of the house and this gives wonderful views of the garden and is a truly beautiful site. We can host receptions in marquees of all shapes and sizes with a capacity of between 60 and 500 guests.
HOUSE RECEPTIONS
These take place in the central hall (dance floor area) and a series of two rooms comprising the drawing room and the dining room that are situated around the hall. And new from 2011, we also have the use of your own boutique bar and the Billiard Room, with its full size snooker table if you fancy something a little different to entertain your guests, is also available for an additional cost.
Wedding Breakfasts take place in the drawing room whilst the dining room is used for evening buffets. Both rooms are linked by double opening doors and create a very easy flow of traffic for the evening party that enables the evening guests and days guests to enjoy mixing as they help themselves to the buffet area before going back to the tables in the drawing room to sit down and eat together, if they so wish.
An evening function can take place with a disco or band and a bar in the central hall with dancing. Other guests can sit and talk in the other reception rooms (drawing room and adjoining dining room) without being drowned by the music.
Marquees & Extras
We can supply a list of marquee companies, or if you wish, this can be organised by us for you. We do recommend a local marquee company who we find most helpful and convenient to work with. The added benefit of using our preferred marquee provider is that they know the site inside out!
It is sometimes requested that the house, particularly the Main Hall, is open for photos or a welcoming drink and guests have use of the inside toilet facilities. There is an extra cost for this. As part of the hire fee the gardens can be used for photos and also for the guests enjoyment.
