Outdoor Theatre Productions August 2018

The gardens will be hosting some fabulous outdoor theatre productions this August including

As You Like It performed by The Pantaloons on Sunday 12th August at 4pm

Welcome to the Forest of Arden, a world of clowns, lovers, runaways and rebels. The critically-acclaimed Pantaloons present their innovative and hilarious open-air version of Shakespeare’s timeless comedy, with folky, foot-stomping live music and their own inimitable brand of buffoonery.

Tickets: £13.50 adult, £8 child under 16, £37 family ticket (2 adults, 2 children). Under 3s go free. £1.25 booking fee per transaction.

Performance length: Approx. 2hrs including interval
Age Suitability: All ages

This performance takes place in the open-air  and will continue in all weather except conditions which the venue or company deem to be genuinely unsafe for the audience or performers.

Pirate Pearl and the Big Blue Monster performed by Little Blue Monster Productions on Sunday 19th August at 11.30am and again at 2.30pm

Pirate Pearl lives aboard the good ship Mirabel with her crusty old shipmate Grandpa Bert. She’s not a real pirate but Pearl loves to imagine she’s sailing the seven seas on a swashbuckling pirate adventure. One day Pearl finds a stowaway aboard the ship – it’s a little blue monster. But little monsters grow into big greedy monsters – and this one wants his DINNER! There’s trouble ahead for Pirate Pearl…

Tickets £11 per person or £39 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Under 2s go free (includes transaction fee).

Performance length: Approx. 1 hour
Age Suitability: A children’s production aimed at 3+

This is an outdoor show. If it rains the show will go on but we will provide a waterproof shelter. We are unable to reserve any seating and the show will take place on a lawn. Please bring along a blanket or low-backed seating.

The Importance of Being Earnest performed by The Pantaloons on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August at 4pm

Everybody loves Ernest. In fact, Cecily and Gwendolen are both engaged to Ernest. The only trouble is, Ernest doesn’t exist. Or does he…? This energetic and musical production from the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons infuses Wilde’s witty words with snappy new songs and frantically funny physical theatre to give this perennially popular play a hilarious contemporary twist!
