The Garden Wing at Mount Ephraim is a beautiful self-catering wing within our historic country house, available to hire all year round. With six spacious double bedrooms, the Garden Wing sleeps up to 12 guests, making it the perfect choice for family gatherings, group getaways, or special celebrations in the Kent countryside.

Surrounded by formal terraced gardens, guests enjoy exclusive access to 10 acres of landscaped grounds outside of visiting hours. With miles of countryside walks straight from the doorstep — and two local dog-friendly pubs nearby — pets are welcome to join you on your stay.

Spacious Accommodation with Character

Inside the Garden Wing you’ll find:

  • A large sitting room with a wood burner
  • A cosy snug, perfect for relaxing with a book
  • A games room with a full-size snooker table
  • An open-plan, fully equipped kitchen and dining room — ideal for cooking and entertaining together

Upstairs there are six double bedrooms (two of which can be set up as twins), all with charming views of the estate and surrounding countryside. The accommodation includes:

  • Two shared first-floor bathrooms — one with a freestanding Victorian bath, the other with a walk-in shower
  • A convenient downstairs loo
  • A private terrace with stunning views over the gardens

Local Flavours and Private Dining

During the garden season, our West Wing Tea Room serves delicious afternoon teas, which can also be arranged in a private room for your group. Menus feature locally sourced produce and can be tailored to dietary needs.

For something extra special, we’re happy to recommend trusted local chefs for private dining experiences within the Garden Wing — perfect for celebrations or memorable evenings in.

Explore Kent from Mount Ephraim

Our location makes the Garden Wing an ideal base to explore Kent. Within a short drive you’ll find:

  • The charming market town of Faversham with its independent shops and historic pubs
  • The vibrant seaside town of Whitstable, famous for its oysters and harbour
  • The medieval city of Canterbury, home to the world-famous Cathedral

Important Information

The Garden Wing is part of our privately owned home and hospitality business. It has its own separate entrance but is situated within the main house, where some business operations are based.

Please note:

  • The main house hosts weddings or private events, and whilst there will never be a wedding reception during your stay, occasionally the house may be in use for small events or marquees may be in place or being set up during your stay
  • The gardens and Tea Room are open to the public from April to September, Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays, between 11am and 4pm.
  • There are also special events held in the gardens throughout the year.
  • Additional accommodation is available in the West Wing (five ensuite guest rooms), which can be booked alongside the Garden Wing for larger groups.

Prices and Booking

We offer a two-night minimum stay in the Garden Wing.

  • Low season: from £1,300 for two nights
  • High season: up to £1,800 for two nights
